Whether you’re visiting Trondheim for the first time or simply looking for a new church family, you are welcome at Trondheim International Church. There’s no need to know anyone beforehand or have everything figured out—just come as you are.
When you arrive
We have our meeting on the 2nd floor. The door to the building is kept locked by KFUK-KFUM, but we have put a doorbell outside before the Sunday Service. Just press the button, and you can come in when you hear a soft “click” when someone unlocks the door. Please note that there is no elevator in the building. Once you reach the 2nd floor, simply come in, find a seat, and make yourself at home!
Our Service
We begin with a warm welcome, followed by a short reading or sharing from the meeting leader. We sing a mix of traditional hymns and, sometimes, contemporary worship songs. We use only a few musical instruments, but everyone is encouraged to join in and sing during the worship.
We also read from Scripture, followed by a sermon given by the pastor or an elder.
The service lasts about an hour and a half.
What to wear?
There is no dress code at TIC. Come in whatever you feel comfortable wearing—whether that’s casual clothes or your Sunday best. Just come as you are!
You may also notice that some women wear a head covering. This is not a requirement at TIC, but a personal practice followed by some women in our church.
What about children?
We love having children in our church! During the sermon, we try to gather the children together in a separate room where they can enjoy activities and receive Christian teaching suited to them.
We do not have regular organized classes or a formal Sunday School program, but we do our best to provide a meaningful and enjoyable time for the children. Children are also welcome to stay with their parents during the service if they prefer. There is no pressure—families can choose what works best for them.
What language is the service in?
Our services are held in English. This is particularly important for TIC because of the international congregation. It’s possible that one would pray in Norwegian or their own mother tongue.
After the service
The fellowship doesn’t end when the service does! After the service, we usually gather together for coffee, tea, and food (free). Our Kitchen Ministry helps prepare the food, and other members of the church may also contribute by bringing something to share.
It’s a relaxed time to meet people, have a conversation, and get to know others in our church community.
You’re welcome to stay, grab something to eat, and join us!
Parking
The nearest parking space near Prinsens gate 10A that is open on Sunday is in Leüthenhaven (see Google map). It is free to park there on Sundays.
If you wish to park in the Leüthenhaven P-hus (underground parking), you can use the SmartPark app which allows you to drive straight in and out of a car park without thinking about the payment. If you don’t have the SmartPark app, you can use the ticket machine.
